Phyllis Dence Day

26th February 2019

The annual Phyllis Dence Day and Memorial Concert takes place on Friday 8th March 2019 and parents are invited to join us for the concert at 2pm.

This special day, organised by Stover Music department, is in honour of the second Headmistress of the School, Phyllis Dence, who was a talented musician and supporter of performing arts. The day is organised annually as a celebration of music and the arts and provided to pupils throughout the Senior School.

This year the theme was “Number Three” and pupils have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities including Bollywood Dancing, African Drumming, Circus Skills, Magic, Sixth Form Choir, Storytelling, Stand-up Comedy, Recorders Rock, Art (African Print) Photography, Felt Making and Drama.

The afternoon concert includes a set by Wildwood Kiln who are an English contemporary family indie/folk trio, composed of sisters Beth and Emillie Key and their cousin Meghann Loney, from Exeter. The concert will culminate with performances from some of the winning candidates from the House Music Competition and the hotly contested House Song Competition.
