Awards, Accolades and Achievements

Stover School

Stover School enjoys a position as one of the south west’s leading independent schools, and numerous accolades demonstrate its success.

i25 Excellence

Stover School was delighted to announce that our Headmaster, Mr Richard Notman was nominated for the prestigious Independent Insight i25 Award. The national i25 Awards celebrates 25 individuals who are making a remarkable contribution to independent schools and independent education.

The judges were looking for outstanding examples of innovation or influence made by individuals in the independent sector. Mr Richard Notman has been nominated for introducing the hugely successful Research Based Learning curriculum to Stover School, Newton Abbot. Research Based Learning is a philosophy that transcends the whole curriculum at Stover School, being employed from the Nursery to the Sixth Form. It defines an approach in which teachers encourage pupils to be researchers, discoverers and creators of their own and others learning, within a lesson or series of lessons, which encapsulate a learning aim or objective.

ISM Gold Certificate

Incorporated Institute of Music

At the start of the year, Stover School were presented with the ISM Gold Certificate that acknowledges participation and excellence, particularly at GCSE level. Stover School were one of only 57 schools out of 3500 to receive one of these certificates, and the only non-selective school in the South West to receive a Gold Certificate.

Stover School is delighted to announce our most recent award from The Private Education & Development Awards 2019 which looks to commend and award the efforts of all institutions, organisations and agencies who make the education of our societies their priority. From early learning, to adult education, all those nominated make quantitative & qualitative contributions to this vital sector. We are delighted to have won Most Innovative Strategy 2019 – Southern England for our Research Based Learning curriculum and Most Outstanding for Music Education 2019 – Southern England.
