Pupil Enrichment

Pupil Enrichment – Senior

education is about more than just the classroom.

Ignite curiosity with a wealth of opportunities to complement, enrich and extend those already offered by the school curriculum.

The activities programme is an important part of the school day and we are encouraging every pupil to try a range of these at home where possible during #RemoteLearning. View our Remote Learning Clubs and Activities Programme for the Senior School HERE.

Stover School operates an extensive extra-curricular programme of outdoor pursuits. The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels and activity weekends enable pupils to experience activities such as caving, abseiling and trekking. The ability to take on challenges, work as part of a team and to take responsibility are key objectives of this aspect of education at Stover. One of the main events is the Ten Tors Challenge (when up to 45 miles are walked over Dartmoor in two days), for which pupils prepare and train for many months. Activities also include LAMDA Drama classes, HIGH5 Sports and Activities and even educational trips abroad.

Alongside the many opportunities we offer within the school, we also give our pupils the chance to explore, experience and learn from the world around them. Academic excursions include a Geography trip to Iceland and the ever-popular – and very moving – History Battlefields Tour to France and Belgium.

The school runs a German exchange programme and a regular skiing holiday and our sports teams enjoy a multitude of tours both within the UK and beyond.

Closer to home, we encourage pupils to get involved with our local community. It is a pleasure to see them grow as individuals as they help others – a true testament to the importance of education being about more than just the classroom.
