Boarding at Stover offers the blend of the expected care, support and enrichment, along with the flexibility that one needs from a modern boarding school. This is an exciting time to join a flourishing area of the school. With structure and activities throughout the week and trips and activities on the weekends, the pupils are kept busy and engaged. We have a strong focus on ensuring that academic rigour is at the heart of the working week, and all pupils are prepared well for personal study as they move through the school. Full-Time Boarding
Full-Time Boarders spend the entire term with us, visiting guardians or relatives during half-term and Exeat weekends. At weekends they have a busy and exciting programme of activities. Stover School has a rich offering of clubs and activities, sports, music, drama and outdoor pursuits; and, in addition, there will be numerous activities for boarders after school and at weekends. Friends and family are welcome to visit, to take a full and active part of the boarder’s life.
Weekly Boarding
Weekly Boarding is an attractive option and allows children to board for a set night or nights each week throughout the term. Flexi-boarders follow the same routines as full weekly boarders. They have set beds and space to store possessions to save having to bring too much home each week.
Short-Stay
Short Stay programmes for international pupils offer the opportunity to experience an integrated study programme during term time. A great opportunity to improve their English, build confidence, experience an English boarding school and live within an international community. We recommend stays of a year although we do accept pupils for shorter stays (depending on availability).
Flexi-Boarding
Flexi-boarding There may be occasions when a pupil wants to try one night of boarding or parents are away and would like to leave their son or daughter to stay at school with friends. This option begins at 4.30pm all the way through to include breakfast the following day. Children can also be booked in for longer periods of time (space permitting).
Day Boarding
Day Boarding allows day pupils to join members of the Boarding House for morning or evening meals as well as supervised activity and prep sessions. It provides parents with a more flexible option where children may need to arrive earlier or leave later than the core school day
At Stover School, we will always do our best to accommodate individual parents’ and pupils’ needs. Parents need to complete a Boarding House booking form which also lists prices. This is then added to your termly bill. Please contact the School Office for a booking form.
