Transfer to the Senior School

Pupils from Stover Preparatory School transfer automatically to the Senior School. Many visits, activities and meetings are organised to ensure that this is a smooth transition. In Year 5, pupils begin to visit the Senior School and experience lessons in various departments. These continue in Year 6 where there are several half and full day visits culminating in Induction Day which takes place in June. Parents of pupils in Year 5 and 6 are invited to an individual meeting with the Head of the Preparatory School to discuss Senior School. The Senior School offers parental presentations, tours and individual meetings throughout the year.

Before the start of the academic year in September, the Year 6 staff hold a transfer meeting, with all Year 7 staff, to share detailed information on all aspects of each individual pupil’s development.

Academic, Sport, Music and Arts scholarships are offered for entry to the Senior School. Many of our Preparatory School pupils sit these examinations and assessments in January.
