Pupil Enrichment

SPS Clubs and Activities

Nurturing potential beyond the classroom

At Stover Preparatory School we pride ourselves on the variety and quality of clubs and activities we offer for our pupils.

The activities programme is an important part of the school day and we are encouraging every pupil to try a range of these where possible at school. Please scroll down for the Clubs and Activities Timetable.

The programme is designed to develop pupils as individuals, enrich education and help recognise talent and potential. We encourage every pupil to try a range of these, which can lead to life-long hobbies and passions.

The clubs programme starts from the Reception Class with a range of different activities for all year groups. Dance classes are very popular with both boys and girls and these include, ballet and Indian dance. Sports clubs include football club with a professional coach, Ben Steer and tennis with Kendell Brown with quieter classes such as Arts and Crafts, outdoor construction club and Eco Club also on offer. Each week the Forest School go out into the grounds and get their hands dirty whilst our LAMDA Club is a great way to build confidence and have lots of fun at the same time.

In Prep School we offer a very wide range of clubs which gradually increase in choice as the children move up the school. Years 2 to 6 children are able to choose from sports, such as Zumba, fencing and judo, art, speech and drama, or dance. Our fabulous Peripatetic Music Teacher, Mrs Young, teaches the Preparatory School Choir on a Tuesday alongside many other music groups.

Stover School belongs to the Devon Schools’ Sports partnership and we participate in numerous events with other schools in the area with many of the events being held in our extensive grounds.

Clubs and Activities take place after school from 3.45pm until 4.30pm.

Our curriculum is supplemented by numerous and varied enrichment activities.
