Andy Bournemisza, our fencing coach, travelled to Livorno in Northern Italy on October 8th to take part in the World Championships.
At the end of the first round, Andy was ranked 6th, a good position to go into the Direct Elimination. He won his first knockout easily against William Carson (USA) beating him 10-1. Andy then moved onto the coloured pistes in the Main Arena, he knew the next opponent was going to be tough, and so it turned out with sadly Andy losing the fight. However, he finished in 10th position in his Age Group in the World which is a tremendous achievement.
