Pupils will learn to apply their mathematics to variety problems

In Year 7 and 8 all pupils work to achieve fluency in their mathematics, developing an understanding of fundamental concepts and being able to recall and apply knowledge accurately.

Pupils will learn how to reason mathematically and develop understanding relationships between different strands of mathematics by building on prior knowledge. Pupils will learn to apply their mathematics to variety problems and will be given the opportunity and encouragement to seek solutions.

Sound mathematical knowledge will provide our pupils with the mathematical knowledge and skills needed for life in modern Britain.

Encourage pupils to recognise the importance of Mathematics in their own lives and to society.

GCSE

Examination Board:

The aims of the course encourage pupils to develop confidence in, and a positive attitude towards, Mathematics and to recognise the importance of Mathematics in their own lives and to society. This qualification prepares pupils to make informed decisions about the use of technology, the management of money, further learning opportunities and career choices.

ALEVEL

Examination Board:A-level Maths provides students with a thorough grounding in the mathematical tools and techniques often needed in the workplace. The logic and reasoning skills developed make sure the qualification is widely respected.
