Plastic Cup Free Week

26th October 2018

Like many of us, you may have seen recent television programs highlighting the damage that single-use plastics are doing to the environment.

At Stover School, we take a responsibility to our environment very seriously, and so building on the success of last year’s Day of No Plastic Cups, we are going to continue to reduce the amount of single-use plastic we use. Therefore, the week beginning 5th November will be a week where we use no plastic cups in the school canteen, in our offices or our reception.

In order to support this, we are asking that all pupils bring in a reusable water bottle (like a Sports water bottle for example) for that week and refill them from the water fountains around the site, or from the water fountain in the canteen where water will be available throughout the day as usual.

There is a small supply of reusable sport’s bottles available from the school shop, but they are also available from many high street suppliers.

I am sure you are happy to support us in our efforts to making Stover a more environmentally place to be and to help support the global movement away from single-use plastics.”
