School Day – Nursery

At Stover Nursery we ensure that children feel safe and secure and that their individual needs and interests are valued and supported, encouraging them to develop a broad range of knowledge and skills to ensure ‘school readiness’.

Upon arrival at the Nursery, parents pass the care of their child to a member of staff who will acknowledge and welcome the child and record their attendance in the register at the start of each session.

During each session there are opportunities for adult-led and child-initiated activities with a good balance of time being spent indoors and outdoors in the wonderful Nursery garden. Nursery children and staff are frequently found exploring the 64-acre site, perhaps picnicking in the summer months; playing in the leaves in autumn; enjoying the snow in the winter and puddle jumping in the spring! Nursery children also make daily use of our Preparatory School Hall for Physical and Creative Development.

The children enjoy a healthy, mid morning and mid afternoon snack in the Nursery café and at lunchtime walk over to the Dining Hall with their teachers to enjoy a hot meal prepared by our award-winning chefs.
