Now available from the School Shop

The year, 2020 will mark the bicentenary of the opening of the Haytor Granite Railroad on Dartmoor, in September 1820. This new book is being published in celebration of that event.

The book is the outcome of a four-year research project, to chart the history of the Haytor granite industry and the people who ran it, and also to identify many of the buildings and structures, for which its granite was supplied.

Published in colour, the book contains 180 pages and has over 150 photographs and illustrations, fully referenced and indexed.

With a Preface by Dr Kevin Bishop, CEO of Dartmoor National Park, the book is being published by the Stover Historic Landscape Trust in association with Dartmoor National Park and the Stover Canal Trust.

The cost of this edition is £16.95 and it is available from the School Shop.
