During Activity Time, Senior School pupils have been learning the art of
flying kites. Under the expert guidance of Mr Brown, pupils have been
helped to hone their kite flying technique. During their session on
Thursday, Mr Notman joined in and even managed to keep his kite in the
air. He said, “It was good to see their pride and amazement as they
mastered a new skill.”
Although the club is run ‘purely for fun’, the activity does develop
hand-eye coordination, kinesthetic awareness and gross motor skills.
Mr Brown said, “The children really enjoy the club. We need good weather conditions for kite flying so every kite can fly successfully. They love the challenge and thrill of getting the kite up into the air and the task of keeping it up in the sky.”
