A (Virtual) Harvest Celebration

20th October 2020

A Harvest (Virtual) Celebration!

Stover parents and friends of the Stover community are invited to a fantastic Harvest Festival celebration (virtually) for the very first time on Tuesday 20th October. The pupils in the Nursery and Preparatory School will sing popular songs like: ‘Big Red Combine Harvester’, ‘For the Harvest’ and ‘Harvest Samba’. The Stover Singers will also perform an exciting set of songs entitled: ‘The Earth is my Mother’-Traditional Native American, ‘Gather in the Harvest’ and the ever so jolly-‘Bean Harvest’ sang by KS1.

All the children have been busy baking bread and immersing themselves in art and design activities on the theme of Harvest for the past few weeks: producing Harvest plates in the EYFS, Scarecrows in KS1, and collages in KS2. Despite not being able to invite parents to Jubilee Hall to listen to music and to join us in prayer and thanks, the children have thoroughly enjoyed getting creative and have produced artwork of high quality which they have described as: ‘making them all feel happy and good inside!”

We would like to extend a special ‘thank you’ for any donations parents have made, to our chosen charity for this event: ‘Children’s’ Hospice South West’; to Mrs Yonge and Mrs Farleigh for the music arrangements, Mrs Byron-Edmund for the art banners and to Mr Appleby for organising the Harvest programme.

The pupils will be watching at 9:30am. We look forward to you joining us. Alternatively, you can view anytime on our website or YouTube channel.
