500 WORDS! First Round Success

2nd May 2019

BBC Radio 2 Writing Competition

Congratulation to Year 5 pupil, Elizabeth Whitney-Lewin and Alexandra Hall, for successfully made it through to the next stage of BBC Radio 2’s writing competition 500 WORDS!

‘500 Words’ is the UK’s most successful short story-writing competition for children between the ages of 5 and 13.

It was launched back in 2011 after Chris Evans had a dream. He dreamt of getting children excited about reading and writing. All children: no matter what their ability, experience, or background. Mr Walsh said, ‘All the staff at Stover are so proud of Elizabeth and Alexandra who have both made it through to the next round of the competition.  We can’t wait to find out if ‘Billy’s and the Vicious Veggies’ and ‘Prowler in my Garden’ make it to the final!
