School Ethos
Diamond Model of Education
In accordance with the ‘Diamond' Model of education, our Nursery and Pre-Preparatory Department are co-educational. There is much evidence to suggest that girls and boys benefit from learning together at this young age. It allows them to form friendships and working partnerships with both genders that will continue throughout their time at school.
At Year 3 pupils are split into classes according to their gender. The classes generally follow the same curriculum with teachers planning closely together. Whilst pupils are taught most lessons separately there are ample opportunities for interaction between girls and boys, both during the school day and at after school clubs and activities. In addition, children mix together for performances, break times, swimming and school trips.
At Stover Nursery, we have found the ‘Diamond' Model to be extremely beneficial to pupils of both genders. We invite you to come and visit our school and see for yourself this unique model in action.
