Our Curriculum
We cover six areas of learning in a practical, age and stage appropriate manner in line with Government guidelines. Staff constantly monitor, assess and plan for whole group and individuals to ensure a positive experience for all. The Staff encourage the children to take an active part in helping to create a profile of their lives at home and in school.
Our children have frequent access to our own nursery garden and we constantly make use of the incredible 60 acres and beautiful countryside within the school grounds. These fantastic grounds offer our pupils the chance for daily exploration: picnics in the jungle, close observation of animals, birds and plant life, sporting activities and team games. Wet weather does not deter us, all children are provided with protective outdoor clothing and boots.
As well as receiving visitors, our planning includes excursions into the community. We use the school mini-buses to transport us to the market, the theatre, fire station or strawberry farm. These experiences provide our children with wonderful springboards for follow up work and are enjoyed by volunteer parent helpers as well as the children.
During the final term the Nursery children regularly visit the Reception Class to ensure a smooth transfer to the Preparatory School for the September following a child's fourth birthday.
