Stover Ethos

Our aim is to develop a range of skills to enable our pupils to become competent and confident individuals prepared for professional and family life in the 21st century.

Stover offers the ‘Diamond' model of education - a "best of both worlds" approach - providing the advantages of single sex teaching but embracing social and emotional development through opportunities for mixed activities. The nursery and pre-prep departments are mixed, from 7 years the strong Stover ethos of single sex classes to GCSE ensures both girls and boys reach their true potential, not least in terms of examination success. To complete the ‘Diamond' model, Stover Sixth Form is co-educational for the final A Level years, preparing them for the next stage in their chosen universities and careers.

Balancing established qualities with progress.  We are very conscious of the setting of the school and our inheritance from past generations of pupils, staff and parents.

Here at Stover, we seek to balance the traditional values that are essential in later life with a caring and modern approach to the world around us. We want our pupils to achieve their aspirations and we recognise the past and its place in the school of today and beyond, providing pupils with the latest in resources and facilities. Our site provides multiple opportunities for imagination, enquiry, exercise, competition and fun and the school is committed to preserving and extending our site in equal measure.
